RSU Admission List 2026/2027: How to Check Admission Status on JAMB CAPS

The RSU admission list has been released for the 2026/2027 academic session. Candidates who applied for admission into Rivers State University (RSU) can now check their admission status to know if they have been offered provisional admission.

The RSU admission list is available through the JAMB Central Admission Processing System (CAPS), where candidates can confirm their admission status.

How to Check the RSU Admission List

Candidates can check their RSU admission status through the JAMB EFacility portal, where the CAPS admission page is available after login.

The checking process is as follows:

1. Visit the JAMB EFacility portal.
2. Log in with the candidate’s JAMB username and password.
3. Scroll down and select Check Admission Status.
4. Select Access my CAPS.
5. Open Admission Status to see whether admission into RSU has been offered.

RSU Admission Status Messages on JAMB CAPS

JAMB CAPS may display different responses while an RSU application is being processed. Each response shows the current position of the admission application.

Admission Offered

ADMISSION OFFERED means JAMB has approved the candidate’s admission.

The candidate can proceed to accept or reject the offer through the approved JAMB admission channels.

Admission in Progress

ADMISSION IN PROGRESS (AIP) means RSU has reviewed the application and recommended the candidate for admission, while further approval and JAMB review are still pending.

A final admission decision has not yet been displayed at this stage.

Recommended

RECOMMENDED means RSU has considered the candidate for admission and the application is awaiting JAMB review to confirm that the required criteria have been met.

Candidates with this response may continue checking CAPS for a later update.

Not Admitted

NOT ADMITTED means the candidate has not yet been selected or considered for admission.

This status may appear when an admission list has not yet covered the candidate or when the application remains subject to further admission processing.

Pending

PENDING means the application is still under review and no final admission decision has been recorded.

Candidates with this status may check CAPS again later for any change.

What Candidates Offered Admission Should Do

Candidates whose CAPS status is ADMISSION OFFERED are expected to accept or reject the admission.

Acceptance or rejection can be completed through biometrics at an approved JAMB CBT centre or by SMS.

For the SMS option, the candidate should send ACCEPT or REJECT to 55019 or 66019 using the phone number registered with JAMB.

The registered line should have up to N50 on the main account. JAMB does not deduct the required charge from borrowed airtime or Xtra Credit.

After accepting the offer, the candidate can proceed to print the JAMB admission letter.

How to View JAMB CAPS on a Phone

Some candidates using a mobile phone may open JAMB CAPS and see only the welcome page, with the admission-status option missing from view.

Chrome desktop mode can be used to display the complete CAPS page. The candidate can open the Chrome browser menu and choose Request desktop site, after which the full page should be displayed and the admission-status section can be accessed.

What Candidates Still Waiting Can Expect

Candidates who see ADMISSION IN PROGRESS, RECOMMENDED, NOT ADMITTED or PENDING do not yet have an admission offer displayed on CAPS.

RSU admission lists may appear in batches, so a candidate whose name or offer is not yet available may check the portal again later. The CAPS status remains the key indication of the candidate’s current admission position.
